12 June – 12 September 2026
Arena Opera Festival
Now in its 103rd edition, the Arena Opera Festival is one of the world’s most iconic open-air opera events. Over the course of 50 evenings, the ancient Roman amphitheatre will host some of the most beloved titles in the operatic repertoire: La Traviata opens the season on 12 June, followed by Aida, Nabucco and La Bohème throughout the summer. The festival also includes a special centenary production of Puccini's Turandot, staged in Franco Zeffirelli's celebrated fairytale settings. Hotel Indigo Verona – Grand Hotel des Arts is just a short walk from Piazza Bra and the Arena, making it the ideal base for an evening at the opera, with no need to worry about transport.
June – September 2026
Concerts at the Arena
Alongside the opera season, the Arena hosts a full program of concerts featuring Italian and international artists. Highlights include The Lumineers on 6 July and the immersive experience Viva Vivaldi, which brings the great Venetian composer's music to life under the stars of the amphitheatre. Tickets are available on major online ticketing platforms.
Summer 2026 – dates to be confirmed
Shakespeare 2026
2026 is the year of the World Shakespeare Congress, and Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, is one of its main venues. The event brings together international, leading figures from the academic, artistic and cultural world, with a calendar that weaves together conferences, theatrical performances and events throughout the city, such as thematic walks. Some performances take place at the Teatro Romano, one of Verona's most evocative settings for summer evenings. We also recommend a visit to the Shakespeare Interactive Museum, the first interactive museum dedicated to William Shakespeare, just a few minutes from the Arena.
July – August 2026
Mura Festival
The Mura Festival is the summer program of music and live performances that brings the city's ancient Scaligero walls to life. The calendar is refreshingly eclectic, ranging from rock and pop concerts to singer-songwriters and theatrical performances in a unique architectural setting. Admission is often free or at a reduced price. The full program is published on the festival's official website as the season approaches. Photo credits: murafestival.it

Estate Teatrale Veronese at the Teatro Romano
Each year, the Teatro Romano, carved into the hillside of San Pietro with sweeping views over the city, hosts a summer season of theatre, dance and music of the highest quality. Evening performances, set against an ancient and evocative backdrop, offer one of Verona’s most memorable cultural experiences. Tickets are available on the Comune di Verona's official website and through the main presale channels.
