Vinitaly 2026: Practical Info, Highlights and Events

Vinitaly 2026: Practical Info, Highlights and Events

March 2026

Verona is once again preparing to step into the spotlight as the global capital of wine. From 12 to 15 April 2026, the Veronafiere exhibition centre will host the 58th edition of Vinitaly, Italy’s leading International Wine and Spirits Exhibition and one of the most influential events on the global wine scene. Four full days of events, thousands of exhibitors and an entire city transformed into a full-immersion stage dedicated to wine culture.

Practical Information

The fair is open daily from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, from 12 to 15 April. Admission is reserved for trade professionals: a single-day ticket costs €125, while a full-event pass is available for €280. Members of the Fondazione Italiana Sommelier can benefit from a reduced rate of €50 per day, provided tickets are purchased by 8 April.

Vinitaly takes place at Fiera di Verona (Viale del Lavoro, 8), which is easily reachable by car, train, and shuttle services operating from Catullo Airport.

Highlights of the 58th Edition

Vinitaly 2026 stands out for its strong international reach: recent editions have welcomed over 97,000 visits from 140 countries and more than 4,100 exhibitors from 32 nations, spread across more than 100,000 m² across 18 pavilions.

This year, organisers are investing in new content and formats, with a particular focus on innovation in professional pathways. Among the confirmed thematic areas are Vinitaly Bio, Vinitaly Mixology, Micro Mega Wines and the International Wine Hall. An offering that embraces trends, sustainability and experimentation.

OperaWine: The Luxury Overture

On Saturday 11 April – the day before the fair opens – OperaWine, the prologue event co-produced by Veronafiere and Wine Spectator, takes centre stage at the Ex Gallerie Mercatali in Verona. Launched in 2012, it is an exclusive tasting reserved for international trade professionals wishing to meet the wineries that best represent Italian winemaking excellence on the global stage.

For 2026, Wine Spectator has selected 150 wineries (20 more than last year), including 25 absolute newcomers. They are grouped into three new categories: “Legacy Icons” (31 wineries featured in every edition, including Antinori, Ornellaia and Tenuta San Guido), “Classics” (69 leading producers from their respective regions, with strong representation from Piedmont and Friuli) and “New Voices” (50 wineries founded from 1990 onwards, selected for their quality and innovation). Tuscany leads the regional rankings with 48 wineries, followed by Piedmont with 24.

Vinitaly and the City: Wine for Everyone

Those who are not directly involved in the wine trade can still enjoy the atmosphere by taking part in Vinitaly and the City, scheduled from 10 to 12 April in Verona’s historic centre.

More than 70 events will animate squares, courtyards and historic buildings—that are normally closed to the public—with guided tastings, wine talks and exclusive visits. The opening ceremony will take place on Friday 10 April at 6:00 PM, featuring an official toast with Pinot Grigio DOC delle Venezie in the Cortile Mercato Vecchio.

The tasting pass includes 1 complimentary glass, 4 tasting tokens, 1 experience token and access to the lounges. It is available online until 9 April for €18, or on-site for €22.
